November Events

Hi One Yogis

We have some great events happening in November including the very popular Gong Bath and Family Yoga.

Here is whats going on at One Yoga this month:

Breathwork November 17th

Breathwork is helpful for many conditions, but is particularly effective in alleviating stress, anxiety, depression, ill health across many levels and for generally creating a healthy environment for body, mind and spirit.

Working with the Alchemy of Breath Conscious Connected Breathing technique, you will be amazed by the power and potency of this work; the true art of soul retrieval!

Gong Bath Sunday November 18th

Gong baths are like my heart exploding in bright colours, or…. maybe it’s better to say our hearts….. but anyway, I get to play and you get to close your eyes and the sounds get to come into your being and encourage you to open up and let go… which… I would hazard a guess…. is what our being would most like to do in the whole world.  Don’t forget to bring a mat, blanket and pillow for super-coziness  (there are some mats, blankets and pillows available, but not always enough for everyone).

Family Yoga November 24th

Mums and dads, grandparents, carers, uncles and aunties. You do not need to be strong, fit or flexible to come, just prepared to take part, enjoy, calm and connect.

During family yoga we’ll have

  • breathing practices to calm the mind and body
  • partner and family postures
  • relaxation
  • mindful activities for everyone
  • the experience of sound
  • time together to nourish

One Love

Manchester Women’s Mantra Transmission and Meditation Circle

This session is on Friday 5th October 7:30-10:30

Mantra’s as a method of meditation do not need us to be able to concentrate, by singing Mantra’s we are using ancient codes which hold a certain vibration, this vibration moves through our body and thoughts and is capable of transforming sadness into joy therefore healing. Through working in this way we are purifying our consciousness, thoughts, feelings and bodies enabling and making space for us to awaken.

“In this method we create a circle of people who sing the mantras together. Then we place a person (or several people) in the centre who just sit quietly and receive the mantras. In the centre the effect of the mantras is most concentrated and the depth of meditation that can be reached is utterly amazing. We create a very powerful Presence of Meditation that otherwise would be difficult to create.
The Mantra Transmission Circle is the most powerful meditation method that I know. It links up the consciousness of everyone in the circle through Mantra to help the people in the middle to go beyond the limits of their own consciousness. In this process, the persons in middle can experience a tremendous expansion, deepening and purification of consciousness that is vastly beyond the state consciousness of any single person present. No other method does this.
This method represents the very essence of friends helping each other to find liberation.”

I’ve created Meditation Circles for Women for us to come together to support each other in a focused practice of Mantra Meditation in order to expand our consciousness and wake to our limitless possibilities. – Shahida

Feedback on the sessions:

“Thanks xx, for thinking of me… this stuff is powerful.”

“…The power and the energy of the evening coming from you all was immense. I feel honoured to have been part of it and blessed to have received the healing.”

Soul Scripting – a Meditative Writing Journey – 07/10/2018

Soul Scripting is a writing process and a mindfulness practice, suitable for all levels of ability and experience. This simple but powerful process will lead you on a journey of self-exploration and discovery, providing you with tools to reconnect you with the wisdom of your intuition.

By taking time to tap into and acknowledge your inner voice you can begin to make it work for you, instead of the other way around. When you do it can become easier to process emotions, to deal with change and, in short, to keep yourself happy. Facilitator Gillian Torres is a professional writer who developed the Soul Scripting process as a means of teaching anyone and everyone an uncomplicated, attainable method for taking creative control of life.

During this workshop you will learn and practice a series of writing exercises that are suitable for everyone – from professional writers to those who have written nothing more than a shopping list in years. You will not be asked to share anything you write; there will be plenty of opportunity to share your experience and to be supported in a nurturing space but your written journey is completely personal.

If you journal already, come and learn some techniques to take your practise to new places. If you don’t, this is a great introduction. Once you have learned the Soul Scripting process you will have it for life and can use the exercises any time.
